Samantha’s colleagues call her quiet strength her therapy superpower! Sam approaches therapy in a gentle, directive way that gives her clients space to process heavy topics and emotions. Children and adolescents are quick to talk to her about their difficult feelings and events, and families know that when Sam adds her insight that it comes with fierce compassion.

After several years of working in intensive in-home therapy, Sam has deep insight into the attachment seeking behaviors found in home and school settings; she has seen the intense behaviors and isolated withdrawal her clients experience firsthand. After working with families at home, in psychiatry visits, and during 504/IEP meetings, Sam knows that navigating the child world of mental health can be isolating and confusing for parents, and is there to offer validation and guidance.

Sam specializes in working with adoption, chronic stress, PTSD and complex trauma, high anxiety, dysregulation, attachment seeking behaviors, dissociation, suicidal ideation, LGBTQA+ struggles, sensory issues, and mood disorders. She works with children 4+, adolescents, parents and families, and one on one with adults.

Like all Reflections therapists, Sam’s office comes equipped with a giant bean bag and access to our SMART area’s balance beam, exercise balls, and trampoline to incorporate movement and play to help children regulate. Sam has completed EMDR Basic Training and is working on certification, and has advanced EMDR training in adolescents and dissociation. She is also trained in TF-CBT and attachment narratives.
