Before helping others, we have to start with ourselves.

Are you struggling with anxiety, hopelessness, or burnout? No one else seems to truly understand what you’re going through, and some days the fatigue can make even day-to-day tasks feel impossible. Whether you’re the one experiencing these things or a parent watching your child struggle, life feels lonely right now. You may have explored therapy before but it just didn’t “click,” like you ended up right where you started. Or perhaps something has happened that turned your life upside down and you’re struggling to put back together the pieces of who you are.

It’s time to find healing and balance, and I want you to know that you’ve come to the right place.

Through training and my own experiences, I’ve created a therapy process that meets you where you are and embraces where you want to go. Together, we will work to recognize and decrease triggers, increase coping skills, and process your chronic stress or trauma. Reframing your thought patterns and building resiliency can help you gain new insight into how you think, feel, and respond—because how you think about yourself matters. Reaching your goals is possible as you learn to take charge of your life in a healthy and balanced way.

Even though you may feel defeated right now, there is hope and a bright future ahead. You’re not lost, you’re just finding your way back to the path and your true self again. If you are looking for a down-to-earth, compassionate, funny (I think I’m funny), genuine, and supportive therapist with a passion for helping others find their true self, I’m the therapist for you. Schedule a free consultation today to see if we’re a good fit.

  • Motivational interviewing is a collaborative type of conversation that helps people find their own motivation to make positive changes in their lives. It highlights listening, understanding, and encouragement for self-driven decisions that lead to improvement.

  • CBT focuses on reframing negative thought patterns and changing behaviors to improve mental health.

  • IFS helps clients explore different parts of their internal self, fostering self-awareness and helping them accept themselves as a whole.

  • EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping on parts of the body) to help people process traumatic memories and feel less affected by them in the present.

  • Therapeutic mindfulness helps guide individuals to actively engage in present experiences, allowing them to observe thoughts and feelings without attachment or judgment.

MODALITIES

Sessions with me are…

Person-centered.

Everyone is different, so not every session will be the same. We'll practice and discuss all the options together while diving deeper into the reasons that you're here. I’m easygoing and have a sense of humor, which helps when we dig into the tough stuff. With me, you’re going to get a real, down-to-earth approach that’s aligned with your personal goals. Generally, I schedule sessions weekly or every other week so you don’t have to fight for a space in my schedule.

My background

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. I was drawn to being a therapist while raising my 5 children (4 adopted from foster care and 1 bonus child) and helping them process and understand their own traumatic experiences. I completed an internship here at Reflections and have extensive experience with state systems, first responders, and foster care. In my free time, you’ll find me with my dogs, painting, or diving into some true crime mysteries.
