Empathetic Guidance for Growth, Healing, and Balance.

Does life sometimes feel overwhelming? You may be exhausted from the high demands of a job, school, relationships, and/or family. Are you feeling alone and wondering where reprieve is? You just want to feel seen, heard, supported, and balanced so you can be your best self. Is your kiddo struggling? Do they have behavioral concerns, are falling behind in school, or just haven't seemed like themselves lately? Witnessing your child struggle is challenging- you just want them to feel better and learn how to best support them.

Therapy is a wonderful way to explore such difficulties, receive support, gain skill in managing it all, and do some well deserved healing. I specialize in helping adults, teens, and children navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and other challenges in their past, present, and futures. Together, we'll work to learn and utilize coping skills, improve your self-care, process difficult feelings and thoughts, and gain insight into behaviors to make desired change. I am here to support you in gaining confidence and be able to utilize skills, your strengths, and resources to face difficulties that come your way.

Being a witness to one's mental wellness journey is both a privilege and an honor. I am here for the tough days, the successes, and the insights that accompany this journey. Let's take one step at a time together. Schedule a consultation today to see if we are a good fit.

MODALITIES

  • EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping on parts of the body) to help people process traumatic memories and feel less affected by them in the present.

  • TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment for children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma. It combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with trauma-sensitive strategies to help clients process memories, reduce symptoms, and build healthy coping skills in a supportive environment.

  • Adlerian Play Therapy uses play as a medium for children to express themselves and explore their experiences, drawing on the principles of Alfred Adler's Individual Psychology to help them process emotions, build self-esteem, and improve relationships. Through creative play, children gain insight into their feelings and develop valuable coping skills, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence as they navigate life’s challenges.

  • CBT focuses on reframing negative thought patterns and changing behaviors to improve mental health.

  • ACT encourages accepting thoughts and feelings, even when they’re unpleasant, while committing to actions aligned with personal values.

Sessions with me are…

Person-centered and fun.

I believe in meeting you where you are at. How we show up may vary day to day but know that every version of you is welcomed. We will take time and space for what you need while ensuring we are making progress toward our collaboratively identified treatment goals. I also believe that therapy should be fun! I believe in the healing power of positivity, laughter, and joy and am mindful to bring this into our sessions. In general, I schedule clients weekly or every other week to make sure that your session time is yours while providing flexibility because, let's face it, life happens.

My background

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Iowa State University (go Cyclones!) and a Master's in Social Work from University of Wisconsin-Madison.

My previous work experience includes inpatient residential care for adolescents, in-home services for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and day treatment for middle schoolers. I also have experience co-facilitating groups including anti-violence and in-school. I have worked with individuals, couples, and groups with a wide variety of presenting concerns, backgrounds, and ages.

When I'm not at the office, I will likely be outside with my dog or spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy crocheting, reading, working out, tending to my plants, listening to true crime podcasts, and continuing to learn and grow as an individual and professional.
